Hollywood A-lister Anne Hathaway stepped into a paparazzi frenzy as she attended the Valentino autumn/winter haute couture collection earlier this week in Paris.
As the show started and guests took their seats models strode out in beautiful full-length gowns that were both neutral in shades and striking against all skin tones.
Evening gowns were marvellous and demure, with detailed beading both at the front and back of the dresses, and would have not looked out of place if the Duchess of Cambridge had worn one on any of her royal engagements.
Since taking over the creative helm two years ago from legendary designer Valentino Garavani; Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Picciolo have finally come into their own iconic status within this decadent collection.
The models ethereal look centred on their woodland fairy plaits and braids as guests sat and watched the show in wood panelled rooms. The plait themed continued with some models adorning similar style fabric belts to cinch in their waists.
Apart from the nude, cream, ivory and gold palette there was also a delectable skin-coloured two-piece skirt suit with tulle bow tie on top and prominent lipstick red slinky cowl-neck spaghetti strap floor-length gown. Brocade and Chantilly lace, plus velvet in some cases, were also weaved in, but all in all with 41 gowns to show Chiuri and Picciolo have now set their extremely high standards for the most foreseeable future…
