As part of the summer social events calendar, the Chelsea Flower Show – run by the Royal Horticultural Society – showcases the latest garden designs by revered horticulturalists.
With a range of awards on offer, the Chelsea Flower Show is the fashion week of the gardening world, and with this comes an array of celebrities coming to view the greenery haute couture.
As with any social calendar event, seeing what the VIPs wore is all part of the fun and as this was a day celebrating nature, many of the stars took inspiration from this and channelled earthy tones, floral and colour into their outfits.
Fashion
There to promote her new cookery book was wearing turned up chinos with a cream blouse and blazer and long necklaces.
The look was casual and natural and ideal for spring time. However being the movie star that she is, she wore some brown leather platform sandals with a wooden heel to add some glamour to her guise.
Helen Mirren was the lady in poppy red at the Chelsea Flower Show. Women should take fashion tips from this elegant lady who wore a red rain mac to the event.
As with all British summers, rain is never too far away meaning a summer jacket should be a prerequisite when planning a day out.
Helen also incorporated a summery red straw bag in her ensemble and fashionable nude heels.
Jerry Hall also packed her neutral tone rain mac for the occasion. She wore this with a lilac dress, pearls, black pumps and a small brown Hermès tote bag, showing that although it is getting warmer temperatures are not soaring just yet.
Wearing a fitted red-violet dress with nude heels and clutch bag, Princess Beatrice looked stunning and much better than in her Royal Wedding hat which has recently sold for £81,100.01.
Another one of the Royals to come up trumps was Camilla Parker Bowles who chose a fitting shade for the green spectacle. The emerald dress and jacket suited the occasion and her complexion.
Countess of Wessex, Sophie also took inspiration from the shrubbery in her black dress and jacket with red roses printed from the hem to the neckline.
Queen Elizabeth was also in attendance in a floral stimulated dress, which she wore with a powder blue coat and a bizarre black hair net with bows on. I am still trying to work out the reason behind this.
Never one to blend in was fashion designer Zandra Rhodes, wearing a purple dress with countless beads and bracelets, fishnet tights, pink hair and a blue fascinator with electric pink feathers sprouting out the top.
I’ll give it to her that she looked summery and decidedly floral but I wouldn’t be surprised if the bees tried to pollinate her hat.
