World-renowned fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has finally brought his iconic designs to the mass market, by launching his own capsule collection for Macy’s department store in New York.
The Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s Fall 2011 Capsule Collection compromises of an array of pieces, showing off signature styles inspired by Lagerfeld’s previous runway collections and mixed in with new season prints and hues.
Included are flirty dresses, leather trousers, mini skirts, hosiery, vests and coats with accessories kept to a minimum; even Lagerfeld’s legendary finger-less leather gloves appear in the range.
Alongside this Lagerfeld offers in masculine tailored pieces with high collared pristine white shirts: what is new conversely is the injection of colour; bright fuchsia’s, plum and pale pinks – which as we already know are on-trend for next season.
Printed tea dresses reminiscent of 1940s glamour in Miu Miu inspired prints are also incorporated into the collection.
Clothing is also used to accent waistlines creating an hourglass effect, but also gives off a cool monochrome palette on key work wear pieces.
Lagerfeld however is no newcomer to collaborating with the high street having already worked his magic with H&M late last year creating a sell-out collection in hours.
Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s Fall 2011 Capsule Collection will be available in Macy’s stores from 31 August, 2011, with prices ranging from $50-$170.
