Cannes Film Festival Dresses 2011: Day 2

Nearly everyone at Cannes seems to be wearing one of three shades: white, nude and gold.

The muted palette is a very key look for spring/summer 2011, with very few celebrities donning anything too colourful.

The age-defying Jane Fonda looked magnificent in a floor length white gown with long sleeves. It’s hard to believe this woman is 73!

Jane Fonda Also carrying off the white look was the stupidly stylish Alexa Chung in a simple knee length full sleeved dress which she teamed with a diamond necklace, beaded white clutch bag and black court shoes.

Natalia Vodianova attended the Calvin Klein party at Cannes in a streamlined white maxi-dress with diamante encrusted clutch bag and heels.

Vodianova’s style is good to follow if you like prefer the more natural look. Her loose curls and bushy eyebrows look pretty and should appeal to low-maintenance women.

In the nude category was Rachel McAdams wearing tailored trousers and a tucked in bejewelled strapless bodice.

Also backing the nude trend was the stunning doll-like Emily Browning, wearing a floor length lace frock.

Lara StoneThe horizontal lace work is very on trend at the moment especially since Kate Middleton’s Alexander McQueen dress she wore at the Royal Wedding.

In the gold corner were Diane Kruger and Lara Stone who both opted for gold maxi-dresses. Kruger’s dress was more of an evening gown and had a train whereas Stone toned her look down by wearing gladiator sandals.

Rosario Dawson also chose from the soft colour scheme, when she opted for plain long grey dress brightened up by a silver clutch and strappy sandals.
