Royal Ascot 2011 kicked off yesterday and along with the racing comes fashion, as celebrities, royals and race goers dressed in their finery for the first day of the five day annual racing event.
As is the customary procedure at Ascot, the Queen looked her usual well put together and colour coordinated self when she arrived for the royal procession.
This time round Queen Elizabeth wore a mint green number. Her jacket matched her hat with just some coloured ribbon around on the hat for effect and she accessorised with white shoes and bag.
Camilla Parker Bowles on the other hand decided to recycle her royal wedding outfit. This seems to be occurring a lot lately with Kate Middleton wearing outfits she has publically been seen in before, demonstrating the frugal measures some of the royals are taking in the current economic climate.
Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie looked understated at the event and appear to have also taken style notes from the Duchess of Cambridge. Engenie wore a turquoise lace dress with a white jacket and for some reason snake skin shoes, while Beatrice chose nude and black which matched better.
In terms of celebrities at Ascot racecourse we saw Danielle Lineker dressed in a ink Victoria Beckham dress which fell a few inches above the knee. The waist had a grey strip around it which she matched with grey heels and a grey floppy hat.
Also in the same viewing box to watch the racing at Ascot was Holly Valance and her businessman boyfriend Nick Candy. Holly opted for a fitted black dress with a box cut neckline and cupped shoulders. Her inspiration behind the outfit was clearly Jackie O, especially with a black and gold pill box/beret fascinator, cat eye sunglasses and Hermès bag.
